Duncan, I'm running Philly too and have also been looking at the various weather forecasts. The temperatures are looking great though ... Here's my question for you living more locally: The overnight forecast for Saturday is for 2mph winds, with 8mph gusts. Is there a pattern of it getting windier later in the day and being calmer in the morning in the area?

Evan, first of all, you got a really cool blog going. Good luck at Philly. I hope to see you there! Regarding the wind, unfortunately, I just moved down here and do most of my runs by mid afternoon. I can say that out at Valley Forge, the wind is kicking at mid day, but I can't compare it to the morning b/c I haven't done any runs in the morning yet. The 9 mph gusting to 22mph doesn't have me too concerned. The same website had scary wind predictions for the Hudson-Mohawk that didn't pan out. I value wind predicting equal to that of passing wind. Do note that it is calling for it from the SE which bodes horrible for the last 5 miles. We will feel something on our faces during our death slog back from Manayunk up that little bitch-ass hill that no one notices going out. Just remember to prepare yourself for some headwind at the end and hold one last mental token for it.

Was I hallucinating or did I see a post while I was staring bug-eyed at my monitor around midnight last night that I don't see now? I spent quite some time trying to come up with an appropriate replies and deleted all of them. Looks like you did the same to the original post.

Drew, put down the bag with the chewy mushrooms and step away from computer. Ha Ha. Seriously, I posted a thank you note to everyone last night, slept on it, and realized that I left a ton of people off of it. It was also reading like the back cover of a rock album and I yanked it from publication because I actually do a better job writing about myself than saying thank you. I do note that I have received an incredible amount of motivation and inspiration from all of you and that besides acting as a sad form of exhibitionist therapy, this crack-den blog has given me some positive energy.

As one who trains alot on Kelly Drive, if it is a windy day be prepared for a headwind on Kelly Drive BOTH on your way up to Manayunk and then back down to the Art Museum finish. The wind swirls something fierce and it always seems to go against you.

Given that, I'm not seeing predictions for heavy wind on Sunday. Hope it stays that way and good luck to all who are running.
