While waiting for my oil change today, I read an outstanding and highly-recommended article in the last edition of Outside magazine about some guys that decide to hike/climb in the Wakhan corridor of Afghanistan/Tagikstan. For some reason, I am drawn to this part of the world where you can run into a blind man looking for alms while riding with horsemen who look like they fought alongside Genghis Khan or better yet, sniped with their Jezails on redcoated, crusading, jingoistic Limeys in the Khyber pass.
This article incented me immediately to head to Borders with Josie to purchase one of my favorite period films about this area -- The Man Who Would be King.
