Woody the wabbit.
I have been on the infamous letsrun b-board expressing my fear in the accuweather forecast for Sunday. About every hour, the forecasting 'winds' will change. Highest forecast called for 17mph winds gusting to 35mph. Presently they have calmed to 9 gusting to 25.
Despite all that, my friend Ron has ordered me one of these to wear during the race. I'll set the marathon racing world on fire as I PR by 20 minutes while running with my bionic head wings.
--------------
I ran 5 today (well, 41 minutes total in an out and back). Easy. VF river trail. The same people were out. My two favorites are the woman with 15 dogs all tied together in a jumbled mess of cord; she calls for them like the sailor in the book 'The Story about Ping".... "LALALALALA LEI!!" and the educational couple wearing tweed jackets traipsing about the trail with their hands behind their backs looking like they are about to play Go while simultaneously explaining the connection between the golden rectangle, George Washington, the Masons, and why Newton's Laws of classical physics cannot be applied at the quantum level.
Besides people-watching during my run, I noticed a hurried rush of forest and river activity as the cold reminds the small animals to hunt and store before the rock rolls across winter's tomb and all dies only to become Lazarus a few welcoming months later.
On my cooldown I finally stared at the map of VF park. I did a lumped-throated double-take when I found that my death hill workouts have been done between Mount Misery and Mount Joy.
Oh the unmentionable irony.

LOL !!! Between Mount Misery & Joy? That takes the cake ;-) Mmmm, can I have a piece?
Duncan, I'm running Philly too and have also been looking at the various weather forecasts. The temperatures are looking great though ...
Here's my question for you living more locally: The overnight forecast for Saturday is for 2mph winds, with 8mph gusts. Is there a pattern of it getting windier later in the day and being calmer in the morning in the area?
Was I hallucinating or did I see a post while I was staring bug-eyed at my monitor around midnight last night that I don't see now?
I spent quite some time trying to come up with an appropriate replies and deleted all of them. Looks like you did the same to the original post.
