Parting shots for the day.
1. As I ramp up in miles, not only am I watching my water intake, but I am also paying close attention to my caloric intake. I'm down to 164 (from a Heineken Hackfleish 171 right after Philly). Ramping miles should also mean ramping water and eating more good food.
2. I got caught up in a daydream and wrote to the amateur boxing head of the Philly area today. I think I'm interested in stepping back into the ring as a spry 33 year old to get Jack Johnson'ed by a 17 year old Cuban-American kid on his way up. I went 4-0 in Plebe boxing at West Point and have always thought that I'd like to give it another go. I don't even remember how to put a glove on, but I can have my nose broken just as good as anyone else damnit. Call me George Plimpton. I'm not sure how serious this daydream will be. It might involve too much time. Heck, all I want to do is get in the ring and have a go. It might even give me a different place to vent testoserone and bitterness instead of this little corner of hell.
If I go for it, I'll be sure to blog about it.

Hey Duncan,
Lost your email address, so I'll use your comment section.
My wife, who scours Craigs List on a regular basis, found and forwarded me this ad you may be interested in. Know nothing about this otherwise.
Take care,
Steve

Looking to put together a running group for pretty serious runners who may have recently graduated college and/or still want to continue racing on the roads and track. Both males and females are welcome.
Hey Steve. Thanks for the lead. I'll check it out. I really need to find someone around West Chester to push me. I'll only get so far by myself. My email addy is on my homepage on the right side.

You could always blog about your previous experiences.
