10 miles -easy pace. --------------------------- This is a good interview. Key takeways. 1. He's going to go train under the master. 2. He does quarters; his quarter workouts make me cry just reading them. 3. He doesn't care what people think--especially the barbarians. --------------------------- Pandu ---------------------------

"I just signed with Ray Flynn as my agent today. As far as shoe companies, I believe Nike and Reebok are the two who are interested, maybe more, but I’m not too sure. I guess they’re still talking it out. It doesn’t matter what shoe company it is, as long as they give me the best deal."
Translated, - I don't care what company I am representing, I just want their money.
What a world.

He’s talking about shoe companies for crying out loud, not national affiliation or religions. I prefer to run in Asics or Mizunos but will take an Adidas, Nike or even Loco shoes contract in a heartbeat if they ever decide to sponsor injury prone, over the hill, mediocre runners.
Hummm....what's the number for Balance Bar?

He's 24, he's lighting the roads on fire, he came from a very impovershed childhood; the world is his oyster; I can't say I blame him for seeking the best financial deal. When I was 24, I was typing anything Harvard wanted to hear so that I could get into their MBA program and live a rich life. Had he said, "I don't care about money, I run for peace and serenity." I'd be looking around for puppet strings. Not everyone runs for ascetic purposes and if they do, it takes about 1 divorce with custody fight, 1 death of a close loved one, or 33 years to set in.
