And Now for Some Good News

Chelle just ran her first sub 3-hour marathon yesterday (2:58 to be exact). And, belatedly in me reporting it, another fellow blogger, Andrew, who I follow, also ran a first sub 3 (2:57). I'm encouraged to read good news from people like this who put in the miles; from people who struggle, fall, get back up, and then run breakthrough races, proving to us disgruntled Doubting Thomases that you can get traction under a stuck PR if you work hard enough. This is the sunny side of our sport.

Thanks for all the kudos you've scattered around the web. I'm still terribly intimidated by the road to the B standard, but I just read a little of Andrew's blog and I guess if he thinks he can get to 2:45, why shouldn't I be able to as well? You do realize that your marathon PR is closer to the men's standard than mine is to the women's, right?
